The Buddhist Institute is currently placing itself as a key research centre of Khmer culture producing research to the highest international standards, through the education and training of young researchers, and the completion of projects with experts, both foreign and local. We will also continue to collect and catalogue documents as a database for researchers and scholars across the globe.

The Buddhist Institute has entered into agreements for cooperation with the Societé Asiatique of France and Torre do Tombo of Portugal in a project “Rescue of ancient manuscripts by digitization”. With this project, we expect that Khmer ancient manuscripts will be scanned, catalogued and disseminated electronically.

We aim to publish our research in English and Khmer on these pages as time and funds allow.
